Southern Drying, LLC is a third-generation, family-owned business with roots in the lumber industry dating back to the 1970s. It all began with Bud Pittman, whose hard work and vision laid the foundation for the company. His son, Stan Pittman, carried the business forward, and today Stan’s son, Jason, proudly continues the legacy.

Today, Southern Drying, LLC offers both round and square stakes, produced to customer specifications, pointed or blunt, and shipped across the East Coast, from South Florida to Michigan and Wisconsin. Our Custom Woodworking allows us to provide high-quality, tailored wood products to meet customer needs.
With our Red Hill Sawmill and lumber dry kiln, we can take rough green lumber and process it from start to finish—drying, milling, and crafting it into the final product. Every order is handled with the same care and commitment to service that has defined our family for generations.

The lumber dry kiln gives us the option to start with rough green lumber, dry it, and prepare it for the finishing process. Additionally, we offer a drying-only service if you choose to keep the wood in a rough state or process it yourself.
